Whoami

Hello!

I am a Hungarian cyber security enthusiast, bug bounty hunter and ethical hacker. I’ve graduated university and have a BsC in software technology (no cyber security specialization here :'( ) I love playing CTFs, I find them both really useful and fun when it comes to learning new things in the cyber security field. I think these competitions are perfect for fine tuning your skillset as a security researcher, or even adding new tools to your sec-toolbelt, especially if you come across one that is real life like, with challenges you can find ‘out in the wild’.

I always try to improve my skillset, I try to learn something new in the field every week. I do occasional project-based pentests at the moment, probably starting a full time job soon.

Since mid 2021 I’ve started working full time as an IT security professional at a Hungarian company. The job is really challenging, high pace and involves all kinds of things related to cyber security, like penetration testing of web applications, network infrastructure, Active Directory, mobile applications, WiFi, IoT devices, VoIP infrastructure, SAP systems, OSINT, binary reversing and analysis, software hardening tasks, methodology developement, insider software developement, building penetration testing infrastructure and much much more. I’ve even done POS terminal pentesting and pentesting very special 4G/5G infrastructure. I’ve started as a Junior, but got quickly promoted to Medior role, after like half a year.

Certificates

I don’t hold many of these, the main reasons for this is lack of time or the cert being too expensive for my taste, but I plan to get a few more in the future.
Currently holding:

  • PNPT
  • Pentest+

Planned in near future:

  • OSCP
  • BSCP
  • CRTO & CRTP

CTF team

I am a member of a large number of IT sec. communities, but I play CTFs as a member of the Hungarian team 1337B01S or 0x13378015 (we tend to use all kinds of variations of the name)s. We started out as 3 members, and originally came together to partake in the biggest Hungarian cyber security competition, the HCSC aka. Hungarian Cyber Security Challenge. Our team grew quite a lot since then, but we try to keep it relatively small sized. We operate mostly on discord. Our discord is currently not open to the public, but we always welcome CTF players with some experience. We are not looking for complete beginners. Every single member in the team is Hungarian, we don’t plan to make the team international at the moment, but it might happen in the future.

We ended up organising our first ever CTF in 2021, called 1337B01S CTF. Our goal was to get some new active members. The CTF went really well, we prepared an infrastructure for it for quite a while in advance, so there were absolutely no hiccups during the event.

I’m active on Hackthebox, Tryhackme and Pentesterlab as well.

Writeups and this page

I’ve made this page mainly to have a place where I can post my writeups about CTFs and other stuff. One reason for it was to have something open to the public so I can send my writeup links to anyone who needs it for any reason, and the other was to have a place to store all the information besides my computer.

Even though my team is in fact Hungarian, I’ll make all my writeups in English, so everyone can understand it. I do plan to translate my English writeups to Hungarian in the future, but not sure if I’ll have enough time to do so.
